Before, the ball worked entirely on angle calculations when it hit a surface and set it's speed and direciton accordingly. Though this did work as a quick and easy solution, but it also created moments where the ball could get stuck, move slow, or not take a surface it's already touching into consideration for its bounce angle.
Although it does still use angle calculations, it'll adjust it's speed to where it needs to be, applies the force rather than setting the direction and speed directly, and allows for extra cool effects on the ball (currently, the ball gets a small "initial boost" which looks satisfying with the trail.
Next up
Quite a few changes since the last time I showed off. - The grid lines are thinner - The colors are Blue and Red - A few new structures - A whole row taken out from the grid And more in-depth explanations in the article (with pictures)!
I'm starting to work on like "Ability Boxes" which causes effects to happen when the ball hits it. More in the article. (Also try taking a guess what the one in the screenshot would do!)
