Reworking DeadBasic - "All Patched Up."

Recently decided to patch DeadBase: DeadBasic, and prepare a GameJolt release.
(no promises, as I am not far into it yet.)

As a few people know, DeadBasic was a Clay.io competition entry, and it won me second place with a prize of a thousand dollars, back in April, 2013.

The few weeks leading up to the project deadline resulted in rushed design and programming, as such, a lot of it was quickly added in, in an integrated, messy pile of code, to nail out essentail features of the game. (sound, music, level loading)

Since these things were rushed, and since GM:Studio has updated its core several times since then (eve causing some functions to no longer exist), I need to rework half the project before I can submit anything stable for GameJolt, or even release a patch, to clear up bugs in the current HTML5 version.

These bugs range from zombie pathfinding, sound glitches, all the way up to shadow casting, so it’s a bit of work.

I know I said I would release a GameJolt version immediately after Clay.io, but meeting the competition deadline left me exhausted back in April, as such I felt like exploring other dev-related interests, having been tired of working on DB.

I’ve already started patching sound and re-writing much of the shadow-drawing system. The random level generation is bug-free, thankfully.

Cheers for all the game follows, ratings and comments lately.
I wouldn’t expect the game to be so popular, despite the lack of updates and news.

What you all think

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.

I worked so hard to get all four of them to the end safely, but then...

If you have more of an acquired taste, the restaurants in Niravasi have you covered! Maybe skip the salad bar, though.
