Just a quick devlog on what's currently worked on!
In preparation for the first big content update, a lot of work has been done on the new island. Still, a lot more time and effort has to be put into the new map to finish it and bring it into a playable state. As already mentioned in a post, one of the big new locations is the quarry. Besides that, the island features vast open terrain, dangerous cliffs, and beautiful valleys.
Furthermore, the new map will build upon existing features but will bring a few new mechanics to the game! New plants, recipes and such can be found and the mining mechanic with different ores, smelting, and smithing will find its way into the game. The original midland map will of course be updated to feature the mining mechanic but ores will be rare so to become a good blacksmith, you will need to make your way onto the new island.
One location I already posted is the "sweet berry brewery". Sweetberry juice has been introduced into the game a long time ago and now you will be able to see where the juice is been made! Furthermore, you can help to make the tasty juice by collecting sweet berry on the island and bringing them to the brewery.
The last pic of this devlog is a teaser for a location I just started working on. It will be some sort of forest, that has been cut down for the local smithing industry... That's all I say for now ;)
I hope to get a lot of map work done this week and then I will start to implement the new smelting and smithing mechanics within the next weeks.
