Wow! Can you believe it's already been a year since UTY: Shades of Justice was released? Honestly, it's still kind of hard to believe... I can't thank you all enough for the incredible support, but I'm sure you're wondering how the mod is doing, so why don't we talk about that?

So... What was up with that last update?

Long story short, one of the main artists for the mod left the project, which left us with no one to fill the role of making the sprites necessary to make the update a reality. The update was VERY close to being cancelled, but thanks to some very wonderful and talented people who volunteered to help out, we're doing better than ever!

Progress has been going quite steady, however, it could always be a bit faster. Therefore, if you wanted to help out on the mod, now's your chance! We're looking for:

• Overworld sprite animators

• Battle sprite artists

• Music composers

• Programmers experienced in UTYDR modding/Gamemaker

Again, this is just to speed up the mod's development, so just apply if you feel like it! You can DM me examples of your work on my Twitter, Bluesky or my Discord, which is just zendertroop! If you ever applied in the past, just shoot me a message again so I know you're still interested!

Any ACTUAL news on how the mod's been doing?

The good news is that I'd say the mod is about 50% done, more or less. This includes music, programming, art, etc, etc... Everything's already planned, and only a few bits are left to write.

However, the bad news is that there's been some cuts. This means that there's a very likely chance that the Axis hangout/follower event might NOT happen due to how time consuming and ambitious the Starlo follower section ended up being... We'll try to include it, but I can't really guarantee it'll happen, so, I'm very sorry in advance Axis fans... (Don't worry, he'll still have some stuff to do, just not as much as Starlo.)

Looking back at how much we've improved upon with this update, it's kinda funny how bare bones the released version of the mod is. In fact, most of the dialogue in the follower sections have been rewritten and many new interactions have been added that adds upon the game so much more than the old version.

There's plenty more where that came from. We've got many surprises left that I'll try to not spoil as much, but I hope you'll enjoy them.

Closing thoughts

Admittedly, my plan was to release the update right around this time frame, but of course some stuff happened...

For now there's still no set release date, but we'll keep working it at our own pace. I am confident that progress will be faster since there's more of us, but we'll still take our time to make this the best mod it can be.
