Claire and Charlie sat by a fire, in near silence, the only sounds breaking the silence being the small attempts at small talk from the pair, and the swishing of the trees and leaves, echoing through the light snow.
”so… what was it like at your house?” Claire asked.
”iiii don’t think either of us want to talk about that.” Charlie quickly ushered the question out of the conversation.
”…..it’s a bit chilly, isn’t it?” Claire said.
”yeah. hopefully we can find someplace to stay before it gets too snowy.”
a few miles away, Marcus was collecting firewood as the sun slowly set around him.
just a few more, then I can get the hell out of this freezer of a forest. He thought.
as the sun went into hiding and the moon was left alone in the sky, Marcus started feeling the same tingling feeling in his tail as he did the night before, then he heard the voice again.

”hello? Are you that voice I heard yesterday…?” Marcus called out.
4.
”…stop. Just stop. Please.”
3.
”stop. Get out of my head.”
2.
”please! just stop!”
1.
”PLEASE!” The voice counted down while Marcus begged it to stop.
