Slime Ninja Dev Log Days 11-20:

New and improved UI and UX for title screen and related menus, as well as art for inside of the tutorial level hut.

CHECK DESC FOR FULL DEVLOG

I know it's been much longer than ten days since I posted the last dev log, but I've been busy recently trying to improve my pixel art skills so I don't have to continuously remake the art for my games. If you have any feedback on the any of the pixel art that I make, I'd really appreciate hearing it. I'm not going to post the full devlog this week since it was so long, but I will summarize most of it below.

Day 11:

Added Cinemachine to the project and starting importing a lot of temporary UI for the options menu and credits menu.

Day 12:

Learned the basics of using the Unity Animator and Animation windows and made an animation for the hut door opening.

Day 13:

Created the art for the inside of the hut.

Day 14:

Improved UI for the credits menu and imported art into Unity.

Day 15:

Added a pause menu to the tutorial level.

Day 16:

Improved run and idle animation for the player and imported them into Unity.

Day 17:

Starting designing Gary Green, the player's helper character through the game.

Day 18:

Remade the title screen UI.

Day 19:

Made official color pallete and made a basic design for the tutorial level.

Please go comment on this post!

Day 20:

Made the art for the signs in the demo level that have instructions for the player. Also made the crates that will act as obstacles in the tutorial.

I hope to at least have all the art for the demo level finished by the end of Day 30. If I can have a publishable demo by halfway through summer I'd deem myself as incredible, but I'm estimating that I should have a playable demo finished by the end of summer. See ya next time!

After four months, I've finally done it. Despite my completionist urges, I can happily move on to another game for half a year...

Some more WIP screenshots. My school year is approaching fast, so my schedule is refilling. Sorry about longer times between posts!

Been planning a large project and recently started actually painting out the pixels. This one will take a while, but I'll post update screenshots!

Welcome @pracystudios to Game Jolt!

They're the developers behind Nocturne, a Rhythm RPG inspired by Chrono Trigger and Undertale, where every enemy has a unique song, which you defeat by playing notes Guitar Hero style.

Some icons I made for practice. Not only am I still working on that project with some friends, these are also part of a solo project of mine. More details to come!

Happy #WIPWednesday! Are you working on a game? Making some art? Practicing a song? Something else? Tell us in the comments!

A geyser for practice.

Happy 4th of July to my fellow Americans!

Made for Pixel Dailies.

Can't really tell if there's improvement, just more stylization. I kind of want to redo my redo...
