small update on things


heya folks, i understand posts are pretty infrequent nowadays but i just wanted to talk about both how the game is coming along and generally what's happening in my life.

obviously progress hasn't exactly been regular and there's a few reasons. i haven't talked about this much but the ideal plan for the game has always been to have 6 main nights and additional post-night minigames in between each one (sorta like playtime with percy). these minigames ended up being a huuuuge roadblock for us, we really couldn't think of any solid gameplay ideas beyond basic concepts and we just kept putting them further and further off. however, as you may have been able to guess, we did eventually begin working on night 2's minigame (you can probably figure out what it's about based on a previous post). we were going pretty strong for a few days, managing to complete the modelling and do some small engine tests, but due to both hitting a roadblock in terms of animation and with the sudden passing of a close family member, work has kinda come to a halt for the time being.

as the game currently stands, the main night gameplay is pretty much finished outside of a particular character and a potential update to one of the cameras. we've began working on one of the post-night sections with finalised plans for the majority of the others, and we have also fully completed one of the hidden atari minigames based on the original game (no hints!)

to set an expectation of this game going forward, just know that there will probably be long periods of time without updates or news. i personally am very busy with university and finding time to work on the game has been difficult. but that doesn't mean we've ceased development entirely, we just swing in and out of it depending on how motivated we are to work. it's purely a passion project and we can't devote our lives to working on it.

genuinely i have no idea when the game will release, my aim is to simply release the whole finalised game at once but i understand many people are eager to play earlier than that. i've certainly been thinking about the possibility of a demo or pre-release build but i am still unsure. if i do decide to release a demo then i will let you all know, but no promises.

would just like to thank everyone for sticking with fnaf tuesday and being invested in its development, it's the first time i've ever gained an audience to this scale for anything i've created and it's been truly enriching to see people enjoy what me and the team are working on.
