Hi All,
This is my first blog entry.
Well then… um… ?
Truth be told, I’ve eeked thru starting several ones (personal stuff, prior to picking up game dev as my hobby). I never make it far, say 4 entries max before abandoning it. So I say this time, forget the requisite introductions and let’s just start in the middle, ya?
Kind of depressed right now for dropping out of Ludum Dare 26, on account of my dev laptop shutting down unexpectedly several times. Argh, I though I just had to rest my unit. It started abt 2 days before the competition, but only got worse daily.
After much googling, it turned out to be an overheating problem. I managed to McGyver my way to a solution of assembling a raised platform made of Mega Blocks (aka the good won’t-break-your-bank-account Legos).
Today I got a good deal on a new $4.00 laptop fan platform which is now sandwiched between the computer and the Mega Blocks platform. The blade spins pretty fast, actually faster than some of the pricier (i.e. 3X more expensive) options. It even has 2 blue leds thown in for extra kicks, like those custom cars with neon lighting beneath the bumpers that looked like they were floating.
So now I dub thee the Orbital Platform of Cool… Air… +5.
Okay that was a horrible story to start. Glad this blog post was already in the middle of my blogging career here, right? riiight? :)
Actually right now I’m trudging my way to the youtube tutorials of PlayMaker for Unity. It’s a pretty good plugin, I’ll tell you guys about my experience with it sometime. Thanks!
Laters,
Jon
