In the original game, unlockable characters have better stats, but in this game, you will be able to "upgrade" your attack, defense and speed. No need to level up new characters, you will keep using the same stats.

The white number is your current attack/defense/speed, the one you can level up, the blue number is the 'multiplier', for example: using 'birthday' gives you a multiplier, so your attack, speed and defense are higher for a few seconds.
