Hey everyone! Hope you all have been doin' great! I've got some things that I'm working on here regarding ZID that I want to talk about, as well as some other things I want to share.
I'm going to be taking a hiatus for an undetermined period of time from working on ZID. It's not that I don't want to work on it, far from it actually. However, I've gotten rather burned out of working on it and need to take a break.
I've had a history of mental health issues, one of which is severe anxiety. I've been suffering with anxiety for about the last 7-8 years now (from when I was diagnosed), and it's caused a lot of issues for me. So, I've decided I'm going to be putting ZID on an indefinite hiatus.
The game is NOT cancelled, just being put on pause.
New Game Announcement!
I have, though, come up with ideas for a new FNaF fan-game that I want to work on, though this one I'm not going to be sharing much info on for quite some time until I get a considerable amount of work done on it, and I'm only really going to try working on it in my free time and I have the desire to work on it.
This game is going to be called Welcome to Blu's, and is currently slated to have completely unique characters rather than how my prior fan-game work just utilized reskins of pre-existing models.
The game will feature animatronic characters that you'll have to survive from.
This was an Idea I made not too long before writing this, so very little stuff for it has been planned, other than some elements for designs that I want to incorporate.
The FNaF Plus Controversy
This is a more recent thing, and I don't know the full extent of the situation, and admittedly, I didn't know about it until about 5 minutes before writing this.
For those unaware, FNaF Plus is a fan-game that (was) aimed to be a complete overhaul to the original FNaF, developed by @Phisnom . However, an incident had occured within their community that lead to trending hashtags being done on Twitter/X, being #FirePhilMorg and #CancelFNAFPLUSFromFanverse
The controversy stems from members of Morg's community harassing/traumatizing people who said that FNaF Plus was 'boring', which led to those who stated this being harassed with death threats, videos of intense gore, and other things like that.
I'm not going to say whether I think FNaF plus is going to be good, bad, or anything like that. However, Phil showed little remorse after the fact, as he ended up posting an 'apology' onto Twitter/X that was merely a joke, as it was a Rick-roll.
Additionally, he was joking about it, and only after being confronted about this did he have a change in attitude.
This led to many individuals speaking out against Phil. A user on Twitter/X, using the tag @DailyPopgoes, had this to say about the ordeal:
'Creating a fake apology and joking about your fans sending people death threats and gore is genuinely disgusting stuff. This isn't even a toxic gimmick anymore, it's just asshole behavior.'
Eventually, the controversy made it's way to Scott Cawthon's email, with many people demanding that FNaF Plus be cancelled, or that Phil be removed from the Fanverse. Scott seems to have complied with the latter request, as the steam page for FNaF Plus has removed the reference to Phil being the developer.
I do not at all condone Phil's behavior, but I also do NOT condone ANYONE trying to harass and ruin his entire life for this. People do make mistakes, and while I do feel like Phil should face repercussions for his actions, I don't think that it at all should instigate more death threats and violence, as that would kind of, in a way, just lead to the same exact situation.
Whether FNaF plus is merely being delayed and put under a new director, or being cancelled entirely isn't really something that I can say for certain right now as to which is going to happen. But, if FNaF Plus doesn't get cancelled, I wish Scott, Clickteam, and the rest of the Fanverse members the best of luck on their games and finding a suitable replacement director to Freddy's Plus.
