Experimental games, test games, practice games, whatever you want to call them
I will refer to them as experimental games.
these couldn't be considered my best games, and maybe because of how they turned out, some people might not like them, and I can understand that
I mean, I could keep making games just with what I know how to do, but the truth is that I like experimenting and doing new things that I've never done before.
And these games were proof of that and of how I wanted to do something different:
Aran's and Toto's Christmas Horrors (Attempt to make an FNaF 4 game)
Adam and Friends (Attempt to make a 2D game)
Gumball's Custom Night (Attempt to make a UCN game)
And as it's obvious that these are experimental games, I could make mistakes, and I think that's why some people might not like them, as happened with TDNaAATChristmas Horrors, which had problems when it came out
But this helps me to know what works and what doesn't, and thus to make better projects. If an experimental game fails, one would probably abandon the idea, but not in my case. I decide to keep trying.
For example, FNaF: Sister Location
that game was an experiment, an attempt to make a more ambitious, innovative game and tell the story in a better way, and although the execution wasn't very good, that's something that could be improved in future games, but that idea ended up being abandoned, and the next FNaF games that came out ended up being something very different, and they didn't go back to doing something like Sister Location
Well, I think you understand what I mean, I like to do new things and keep doing them.
And I feel that some people may not like this kind of game if it's because of a quality issue, because, I repeat, I can make mistakes, and I can understand that.
If you want a complete game of mine, check out HFiRoxanne's and TDNaAAT CH 2 v2.0, which are the ones I'm putting the most effort into.
(In a few days, there will be new updates for TDNaAT CH 2.)
Obviously, I'll keep making more games like this. I'd like to make a game like Sister Location (but with less dialogue and more gameplay), one like FNaF 6, etc.
I think the kind of games I'm happiest with are Adam and Friends
HFiRoxanne's is a step forward in the development of 2D games.
Well, I just wanted to share this with you.
Thank you for the great support and reception that GCN and the HFiRoxanne's demo received
