I have made an Android version of “The Clock & The Chaos”. It’s free with no ads or IAP. If you like this game, you may want to check it out on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.morazor.tctc
I’d like to spend a couple of words about how Google Play works, some words of warning for fellow game developers mostly: Google Play is very unfriendly to newcomers and indies. If you don’t get a good amount of installations, reviews and ratings you get basically no visibility.
When I say “no visibility” I mean that if you searched on Google Play for “the clock & the chaos” without double quotes, my game was the 22nd on the list until yesterday. Today is at 8th position, probably because I reached around 30 installations, mostly from people I know personally. The other games on the list are less relevant for the search but get a better position because of their popularity.
So if you plan to release something there, be prepared to invest time and money in marketing.
I’m talking about money because basically most of the sites that review Android apps and games have paid options to get promoted. You come across a lot of sites which do questionable things for money: good reviews for money, featured on the homepage for money, positive reviews on Google Play for money…
So if you have no budget for marketing, you are pretty screwed. If you are an hobbist like me and you don’t plan to invest or gain anything, you are pretty stuck.
Of course there are exceptions to this, but keep in mind that for every Flappy Bird there are a million games that no one has never heard of.
