The Backrooms Project: No-Clip

Well, you might be wondering. LeX, why the hell did you start working on ANOTHER backrooms game when you already HAVE ONE that isn't even finished?! To that I say, this is the graphics tech demo for that other backrooms game. I'm no longer making the poolrooms tech demo like I was going to which was in the same project of Luminosity, this graphics tech demo however. Is going to be well yeah a tech demo, but its own game.

Q: Any idea of what the minimum requirements are?

A: Most definitely an RTX 20, Intel Arc Battlemage, or RX 6000 series. Why? Because they all have Hardware RT.

Q: Great, so now we're going to have another unoptimized game that most can't even play, and for those who can play they're going to have to use some sort of upscaling like DLSS.

A1: For the unoptimized part, not exactly. I plan on making sure everyone with minimum requirements is able to reach around a stable 60 FPS on high settings, which shouldn't be too hard as my RTX 4070 Ti Super already runs at 130 FPS on high settings.

A2: As for, most people not being able to play? Well, again. Not exactly, I do also plan on eventually updating the game when it's fully released to automatically have Hardware RT off so those with weaker hardware can just use Ue5's built in Software RT.

A3: I may add FSR3 when that gets released for 5.5, but until then most of the game is going to specifically use Unreal Engines TSR anti-aliasing which provides great quality for Lumen GI and Reflections. But also nanite.

Q: Ew you're using Lumen and nanite? You're just asking for an unoptimized game.

A: My answer to that is megalights + still having a light culling range, so far it has worked... REALLY well.

Any other questions that you may have, feel free to ask them in the comments.

Also I'm probably designing the game to work well with Everywhere At The End Of Time, obviously it won't include the songs in the game but if you open youtube or spotify and listen to the album whilst playing the game, it should relatively fit. As I'm literally listening to it whilst I create the game.
