The lone button on the wall, cracks around it from its placing. Light emitting from the torches, the only light source the room has. The words of the nation's anthem scribbled all over the walls, scratched in with a rock. A man is sitting in a lone chair facing towards the button.
“If I’m going to press it ever it’s now.” He says, trying to will himself.
Flashbacks start to kick in. The war for his nation, where it blew up. Where he nearly lost his life protecting it. The election where Schlatt won by very little, 1%. Where he and Tommy got exiled from their own nation, the nation he founded. The time in exile where he started to lose his mind, where everyday he lived in fear. The war for his nation, where the evil dictator died.
“The thing that I built this nation for doesn’t exist anymore!” He yells, the words echoing off the walls out the exit of the room. He looks towards his ripped robe, with tiny spots of blood sprinkled on it. He moves his messy brown hair all over the place due to exile. He looks towards the sword on the floor, shining with diamond with a mix of blood.
“It’s over.” He gets up moving over to the button. He moves his hand towards the button, now with the willpower to press it.
“What are you doing Will?” A man asks, sending a chill down his spine. Will turns over to look behind him.
“Phil?” Will says, with a mix of fear and shock in his voice. He looks over towards the button and back at Phil. Phil’s wings are up blocking the exit, the bright white colour they are. His green and black beanie over his long blonde hair.
“You said you were in L’manberg, right?” Phil asks, keeping a straight face.
“I am in L’man… This is a part of it.” Will says, trying to make up excuses.
“Will...” Phil says, in a loving voice.
“PHIL, I AM ALWAYS SO CLOSE TO PRESSING THIS BUTTON.” Will yells. “I have been here like 7 or 8 times.” His tone gets more desperate. “7 or 8 times.” He turns back towards the button.
“Will...” Phil says, breathing in. “There’s a lot of TNT potentially connected to that button.” There is silence for a moment.
“I don’t know if it even works, Phil.” Will states. “I could press it, and nothing would happen.”
Phil walks over to his son, giving him a hug from behind. “Do you really wanna take that risk Will?” Phill asks in a tone like he isn’t taking this seriously anymore, starting to laugh. His wings go down, no longer defensive. For a moment, there was peace. Will grabs Phil’s hands, removing them from him.
“There was a saying Phil.” Will says, like he is starting a speech. Phil moves back more towards the exit. Will doesn’t turn away from the button “From a traitor, once part of L’manberg.” Phil’s expression turns to an expression of anxiousness. “A traitor I don’t think you have heard of, Eret.” Will has a flashback to the first L’manberg war, where Eret led them down in a room. A room where they were nearly killed.
“Yeah?” Phil asks.
“Yeah, he had a saying Phil.” Will says as he turns around. When Phil looks into his eyes they are no longer a warm brown colour, but a sicking red. Phil's wings open realising what is about to happen. “It was never meant to be.” Will places his hand on the button and pushes down. A hiss could be heard in the walls. To Will, it was a hiss of success. To Phil, it was hiss of failure, echoing throughout the room. He couldn’t stop his son, he couldn’t save the nation. He runs towards his son, wings ready. He runs into him, placing his wings around both of them. The sounds of explosions could be heard, shattering the wall the button was on.. When the explosions sound further away from them Phil removes his wings to observe the damage. What was left of L’manberg was a big crater, with only a few remnants of buildings once there before. Everyone who was there previously was now on the edge of the crater or within the crater itself.
“Oh my god.” Phil says, with shock in his voice. “It’s all gone.” He looks over to Will who is still on the ground. Will breathes in a huge breath, standing up and looking over the crater.
“My L’manberg Phil!” He yells. “MY UNFINISHED SYMPHONY FOREVER UNFINISHED!” Will looks over towards Phil. “If I can’t have this no one can.” Phil’s expression changes from an expression of shock to an expression of sympathy.
“Will...” Will looks over the crater again, seeing the amount of people around. He picks up the sword from the ground.
“Phil, kill me.” Will forces the sword into Phil’s hands. “Stab me with the sword Phil, kill me.” Will’s tone is a tone of desperation, like he wants this.
“You’re.. You're my son.” Phil says, moving the sword into one hand. Will looks over the crater again.
“WILBUR!” Tommy yells from the edge of the crater. Will sees him, his eyes widen.
“Kill me...” Will thinks for a second. “Killza.”
“No matter what you...” Philza starts. Will bangs his head against the stone wall beside him.
“LOOK!” Will yells as he gestures his hand towards the crater. “Look how much work went into this and now it’s gone.” Phil’s expression becomes hesitant. “Do it Phil.” As sudden as the decision to want to be killed happened was as sudden as the sword went through Willbur’s chest. Will laughs, his eyes going from red back to brown. Blood starts to emerge from the wound, Will collapses as Phil catches him. Phil goes down to his knees, bringing Willbur down. Phil breathes in.
“You couldn't just win, could you?” He says. Willbur laughs again.
“You know what Dream said earlier?” Will starts. “You know what he said to me, he said you know what, there was no traitor.” He starts laughing maniacally. “He fucking lied.”
“What?”
“Phil, it’s Technoblade.” Will says, as he body starts to glitch.
“The most powerful person is the tr..” Phil says as he starts to think.
“And he has 8 withers all ready to go.” As Will says that a noise can be heard from the edge of the crater. Will glitches again.
“Oh my god.”
“Go, go Phil.” Willbur says. Phil removes the sword from Will, getting up and attempting to fly but fails. He looks at his wings, they’re wrecked from the explosion. He jumps down into the crater running towards the edge. Will laughs one last time before glitching again. This time however, he disappeared.
