The Christmas Patch!


Greetings, everyone. From the ChristmAUs team, we bring to you the (I think) final update to ChristmAUs! It's still largely the same game as before, but we've added a few things that might be worth revisiting the game for. For example, a whole other character we accidentally didn't put in the map!

(Oh, and, last night on Christmas Eve, we released a Making Of Artbook, detailing the development of ChristmAUs. It'd be really cool if you checked it out...!)

The OST will be released eventually.

Here's some words from the other two people who helped make this happen!

Lastly, here are the notes!

Additions & QoL Changes:

  • The ESC key now needs to be held down for a full second before actually closing the game in the overworld. An animation now plays to signify that this is occurring.

  • Added the ability to hold down the C button and skip through dialogue quickly.

  • Added a controls screen upon starting the game for the first time.

  • Adjusted the volume of a few sound effects and music tracks.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an oversight that enabled a developer debug event to get get triggered if you pressed the R key in certain rooms.

  • Fixed a bug in which going into settings and going back to the title screen without having a save file on the disk would cause the cursor to appear on the wrong option.

  • Fixed numerous spelling, grammatical, and whitespace mistakes in dialogue and text. (Still probably not all of them)

  • Fixed several oversights in which hearts would not appear over certain characters that had been interacted with, despite having their respective flags set.

  • Fixed some mis-credited contributors in the credits.

  • Fixed a minor bug in which Cadence would instantly snap to a certain position behind Poppy instead of moving over to it smoothly.

  • Fixed an oversight in which a character simply did not exist. (sorry)

  • Fixed an odd UI inconsistency in which being in some rooms would offset the User Interface by 1 pixel vertically, but only if you haven't been to certain other rooms first. (Literally don't even ask)

  • Fixed an issue in which the player was always locked into the pacifist route.

Misc. Changes:

  • Removed several unused assets from the final build of the game, lowering final executable size.

  • Fixed a handful of typos.

  • Edited some characters' sprites to be more consistent.

  • The pots in the snow fort now remain broken forever if interacted by Poppy.

  • Added an aesthetic border fade in upon starting the game up.

  • Added flavor text to a handful of objects.

  • Hoagie Event.

  • Removed the Herobrine character submission assets.

  • Removed the unlicensed bitcoin miner from the executable.

  • Removed the possibility of digital consciousness transferal (untested).

  • Removed Spamton Neutranose Item due to high chance of exploding the player's pc when used.
