So I had online school today, and I was looing forward to it because I tend to enjoy online school when it occasionally happens. So, everything was going fairly fine, until history, my favorite class. My teacher explains that in today's lesson, we're going to be 'interviewing' an AI version of a historical figure of our choosing. And IMMEDIATELY I'm like, okay, what the fuck. I don't really want to do this, but I HAVE TO. this shit is GRADED. And, like, with all due respect to my History teacher, do you realize that AI is generative? Like, okay, SOME of what it says is rooted in fact and credible sources... but what about the other part? This is genuinely dystopian that, NOT ONLY IS THIS A THING THAT'S EVEN HAPPENING, but we also DON'T GET A CHOICE TO OPT OUT OF THIS. I gotta talk to an AI CHATBOT of fucking ALEXANDER THE GREAT. Like... No??? I really don't fucking want to. AI has it's uses, I'm not going to lie. And don't act like you haven't used ChatGPT to cheat, because I certainly have. But when the SCHOOLS THEMSELVES ARE PUSHING THIS??? No, that's where I draw my fucking line. I really don't like this if you couldn't tell. But yes, case in point, THE EDUCATION SYSTEM IS COOKED
