Five Nights at Xyla's is a standard "Survive the night until 6 AM" fnaf fan-game similar to FNaF 1-4. I will not reveal any gameplay information since FNaF gameplay is unique and I may want to use these mechanics in the future for another fangame or if I revive this.
Five Nights at Xyla's is a reboot of a cancelled game of mine "Five Nights at Xecca's" which had a more simple story, gameplay, more simple everything really. Xyla's would've had more fleshed out gameplay than Xecca's and slightly more lore. Sure, it wouldn't have been POPGOES or Five Nights at Candy's 3 lore heavy, but still more than a typical FNaF fan game. Xecca's would've been in a cartoon aesthetic similar to One Night at Flumpty's, only lineless and worse. Whereas Xyla's would've had full on 3D models that somewhat match the prerendered looks like with the main FNaF games or POPGOES and Five Nights at Candy's.
The game was... Not really inspired by Five Nights at Freddy's actually, but rather, Five Nights at Maggie's by Manuel Genaro (Xecca's was inspired by FNaM 4 whereas Xyla's was inspired by FNaM 1 reboot). I liked how the series mostly focused and improved upon the "traditional fnaf formula" (except 1 and 3), without being original or the sake of originality or borrowing too much that it becomes a blatant copy. It took elements from the main games and tried to twist them into becoming its own thing, and I enjoyed that. And as a homage to that series for making me enjoy FNaF somewhat again and for possibly being my last involvement with FNaF, I wanted to make this as a "final goodbye" in a way? Don't get me wrong btw, I respect Scott, but honestly, I only enjoyed a minority of his games (them being 1, 4, and UCN), which I know is a surprise to most of you since most of my interactions here on GameJolt is related to FNaF. But no, believe it or not, I'm not THAT much of a fan of FNaF anymore, and am more of a FNaM fan actually. It's fine if you still enjoy the series.
As for Xyla's future? I'm not sure. It has a bigger chance of being out than Sam's Memories and Temor especially, but it may also get converted to another fnaf game that uses cartoony graphics and a less serious storyline since I didn't wanna focus too much on story. But at the same time, I also do wanna make a game that is unironically scary (since fnaf isn't "conventional horror" to me), and has a lore that is unique in my kind of way.
Bottom line, game might come out and has a better chance than my previous works, but again, don't 100% count on it.
