The in-game reason as to why the doors takes longer to close than open is to prevent people (or in this case animatronics) from getting crushed by the doors.
The doors now have motion dectors that prevent the from being used if somthing is going to walk through it. (In reality this is here just to prevent animatronics from clipping through the doors.) (So any animatronics that are at a door while the motion detector is going off will fail their movement opportunity.)
