Pictured above is it's later design from June 13, 1999. Created after Spaceworld 97, this is after the console Gold and Silver would release on changed to Game Boy Color, rather than Super Game Boy. Because of this, it has a wider array of colors, and the patterns on it's leaves and feet were changed. It also recieved a shiny, seen below:
Tsubomitto would have evolved from the scrapped Poison Stone item, which changed later to a Sun Stone. This Pokemon would be overwritten by Lanturn, and Shiny Lanturn would end up inheriting it's Shiny palette. Proof of this data change would be seen in Lanturn's back sprite in the Spaceworld 99 demo. Tsubomitto's old backsprite is reused as seen here:
After that, Tsubomitto was no more, and Lanturn went through a few more designs before being finalized.
This is one of few Pokemon that got shinies in June, all of which I'll try and cover at some point. Other than that, thats about it.
