The Shattered Lost Soul – Development Update
Work on The Shattered Lost Soul is moving forward at full speed, and the first big story chunk is shaping up to be something truly special. The new maps, such as the eerie Forest (pictured), are coming together beautifully—capturing a creepy, unsettling atmosphere filled with small puzzle elements and haunting glimpses into Bellona’s past and deepest traumas. Another key location, her parents’ house, will plunge players into a tense escape sequence following deeply traumatic events, further revealing the emotional scars she carries.
Bellona’s life is heavily inspired by CoffinKisser’s own past experiences. Her invaluable contributions to major story beats and emotional arcs bring a rare authenticity to the game—helping convey what it’s like to live with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). One of our core goals is to help players who may not understand these mental health struggles see the world from a different perspective.
The game will also explore PTSD-triggered hallucinations, influenced by both my own and CoffinKisser’s lived experiences—mine shaped by life with schizophrenia, and hers shaped by personal trauma. This will culminate in a fully playable character named Toma, who is deeply inspired by my personal journey.
Together, we’re committed to building not just a game, but an emotional experience—one that blends horror, personal storytelling, and heartfelt character work. I want to give a huge thank-you to CoffinKisser for being my creative partner, crafting amazing pixel art for our characters and environments. And of course, thanks to everyone showing interest in these early stages of development.
Even if this project doesn’t reach a massive audience, every single person who connects with it means the world to us. Thank you for reading—and we hope you’ll stick around for the next update.
