Wow. I’ve been working on this game for 6 years. Granted, the amount of time I spent actually working on it is only about 2 months, maybe. This is the first game I not only committed to but I also published. It originally started as a minigame that was going to be part of a collection of other small games. However I eventually shifted the focus to one larger game with more to do. Since this was my first game, I wasn’t very good. Looking at it now, the entire game’s a mess. The code is needlessly bulky, the art style is a little bland and uninspired, and overall the game is lacking. At many points I stopped working on the game because I would hit a snag, some kind of bug or issue I didn’t know how to solve. Instead of plowing through it I would drop the project and work on something else. Several years later I’ve learned a lot more and have gotten more confident in my abilities, and funny enough now that I’ve picked it up again I don’t want to stop. There’s so much more I want to add to the game, and I actually have tools to add those things in a more efficient manner. I’ve been sitting on this game for far too long though, and it’s time I let it go for good. Knowing me, I’ll end up making “Bloxxorz DX Remix Cut” or something dumb like that.
The game’s past aside, I’m still not done with it. I mean with what I want to leave it at. The game’s “Combat” mode is still unfinished. I’m going to publish the game today as I said, but within a few days from now I’ll release a patch that puts the entire game in a stable, playable state. Combat mode is functional, but if you want to play again you need to restart the application by pressing F2. That’ll get fixed later.
Now another thing I wanna hit on is I’m not silent or “dead.” I’ve got plenty of other projects I’m working on. I’m working on updating pretty much my entire game library along with working on new stuff. I’m specifically going to shift my sights to my game The Keepers, an odd horror game based off of a creepypasta. My hopes are to have that game finished by the end of the year, but knowing me it’ll be finished by 2022. On top of that I made a Tumblr where I’m posting updates for a game that currently doesn’t have a page of it’s own or even a working title, along with a bunch of other odd stuff that I make here and there. I also want to plug my Twitter where I’m active the most. Not only do I post about games but I also post about other stuff in general. Mostly art.
That is all I’ve got to say. I know this game has almost no following but if you are one of the few people who not only read this post but also checked some of the links, I can’t thank you enough. I hope you stick around to see what else I do and are excited for my future projects. Have a good day! Go eat some cake.
