I would like to first state that no, the game is NOT canceled.
I had promised that this game would never be canceled, nor nothing has given me such a huge enough roadblock to cancel it.
Around 3/4 days ago, something had slipped into my PC that had caused my CPU to completely fry itself yet there was no actual workload being pushed to it, that thing would be hitting 212 degrees without me actually doing anything, and for those who don't know much about tech, 212 is hot enough to literally fry your processer and kill it.
I had tried everything I could from reinstalling Windows to factory resetting, however none of these would actually completely work out because when reinstalling windows was happening, my storage drive had to seem to completely just brick it self.
Turning on my PC would go to say "There is no Boot Device".
So there you go. Five years worth of work and important things growing up with are now completely gone.
Which then goes to the main issue. This means that all the progress like assets for Remnant Past are all gone, however more than enough was uploaded to a google drive to hopefully get nights 1 through 5 finished and maybe some extra content. I'm sure you guys all figured out the withereds were going to be in this game as a twist of gameplay for night 6, and all the assets were also finished, but of course all is wiped. However luckily for me outside of this game, I had a spare 1TB HDD storage unit in a door full of cords and junk, I usually keep a lot of spare PC parts like graphics cards and power supply cables so I'm ready for when shit goes wrong.
As for what this means for Remnant Past.
The game will either be canceled or shelved indefinitely.
I really want this game to come out because this was something special to me, it was the first time I had actually gained some kind of recognition on this site after like nearly a decades worth of work, and the funny thing is that this isn't even what I am fully capable of. Remnant Past was literally a game for practice of skill and to see how I could use SFM for a clickteam game with @AnorexiaROTTA .
I am siding for maybe shelving this game and releasing it later down the line when I actually have future finished titles. Because if I am being 100% this isn't going to be finished from all the data lost.
I got things better in the future coming anyways, @Fredinator has kindly given rights to me for an official ground-up reboot of the A Golden Past series which you might start seeing more of towards the end of this year or later into next year. All will be rendered in Blender instead of SFM which means more flexibility in clickteam and more cooler stuff to pull off.
Overall I have been looking more forward to that, and I have always wanted to put my blood, sweat, and tears into making how I think a Fredbear game should really be. Everything will be remodeled from scratch, and gameplay will all be reworked.
To top this all off. I feel really bad to the people who helped me get this game to get where it was.
All of this was not possible if it wasn't for @AnorexiaROTTA please I swear to god go show him your support.
Thanks to everyone else like @Mimick @DaylenTvGaming @BruhBoiitsFeet133
and @DoggoMafia
for contributing your efforts and continued support.
I'll see you guy's whenever I make my next project or drop the unfinished build.
I am ashamed of myself and this was NOT at all how I had planned my first game to go.
Thanks everyone, hope you guys are excited to see what is next!
