Hello everyone, I'm barringtone, the founder of NIGHTMARE HOUSE and the main developer. I finally decided to make this post, after several months of silence. In this post I want to tell you the history of the development of this game, what we went through and my guesses about its future.
I met, or returned to, the FNaF community after I found out that FNaTI 6.0 had been released. I started meeting people, learning more and more about fan games. In the end, I decided that I also needed to develop a fan game. I didn’t have an independent project yet, so I decided to join different development teams. I am proud to have participated in the development of Birthday at Freddy's and I am terribly sorry that I had to leave this project. If there was a chance to return there, I would honestly take it. But at the same time I was working on my first fan game "Negative Films Archive", a FNaTI fan game. This game was absolutely terrible, there was minimal progress on this game, the team was small and was slowly falling apart. As a result, a month later, I put the development of the game on a long hiatus (however, a little later I canceled that game completely). Then I left the FNaF community after some dramas with my friends.
However, I decided to return. I used to be a complete idiot, and I decided to change myself. I decided to try with a more original idea for the game. "Maybe this will be a FNaF fan game without animatronics?" This is how the idea of NIGHTMARE HOUSE was born. Many even thought "Is this really related to FNaF?" since they are used to seeing animatronics as main characters, and not monsters. I created a small development team of 3 people, including Uzi_Doorman (model thief), Tvorozjok (texturizer) and me. Later Tsehotron joined, Tvorozjok left and BGames came. This is how the main cast of the development team was formed. Unlike my first fan game, this game progressed quickly, and I was pleased with that. We tried to do better, so sometimes the models were improved. Some time later, after a conflict with Uzi_Doorman, when we found out that he stole ideas and models from another game, we decided to kick him out. Also NIGHTMARE HOUSE participated in Showcase at Freddy's, which was abandoned (shame on Kyesen). I also started inviting other people to help us, thanks to them a lot! I felt that everything was going well, but over time things with development went worse and worse. Tsehotron, due to his personal affairs, began to devote less time to modeling, and then could not find time at all to participate in development. We wanted to make a good poster for NIGHTMARE HOUSE's anniversary, but Tsehotron didn't have time to do almost anything and we decided to kick him out of the development team. A month later he came back, but there was still no progress.
Before the anniversary, we decided that we needed to rethink the game, since the original idea for the game no longer looked so good. Therefore, we decided to completely redesign all models. But as you already know, we did nothing. We tried to find another modeler, but nowadays all modelers are either busy with other projects, or don't want to, or simply don't know how to model. What also complicated the situation with finding a modeler was the style of our game. Instead of animatronics, we have monsters, and not everyone can make monsters look good and scary. Circumstances put us at a dead end. So I want to make a decision.
From this day on, the development of NIGHTMARE HOUSE is on pause. It will be until we find new people to make the game.
I don't want to cancel the game. I want to prove to myself that I can complete something. I planned to make three fan games, very good fan games, and I will do them. I don’t want to ask you for help, because I understand that it is useless. We posted for help a hundred times and no one helped. I’m making this post now because I just forgot about Gamejolt a long time ago, and there was also a difficult period in my life, even related to sui***e. I want to thank everyone who has been following the game since the gamepage appeared. Thank you very much. Love you all
