This is probably the weirdest scratch bug i've ever seen. Read the article because it's definitely not enough to fit in a standard post.


So there's this bug going around with certain scratchers where upon a page reload in the editor, every audio file higher than 5mb turns blank with no audio or time (it returns 00.00).

The only way to fix this is to compress your audio files to be under 5mb, or wait until the bug stops happening to you.

This happened in 2023, mid 2024 and it's back again for vengeance in 2025. Here's the weird part though, sometimes it doesn't blank for certain scratchers. Sometimes it will blank for users, sometimes it won't for other users.

This is because in the project data it isn't actually blank until you interact with the audio file itself and then save it.

This seems to be an editor issue that I have no idea why it happens and why it only does it sometimes.

If you can't tell why i'm writing this, I got hit with the bug. Some of you probably have it too.

Do you have any explanation on why this might be happening?
