This week's mascots are pretty much inseparable, so I'm introducing them all at once.

Bio below. v

The Social Butterflies

Joined Game Jolt: 2012

Hobbies: Light gossip, communal flower gardening

Dislike: Synthetic fragrances

Bio: Tim, Tam, and Tom (from left to right), known as the Social Butterflies by all and sundry, grew up together in a small country village. They have always been close friends, minus a few childhood squabbles, and share a desire to contribute to the health and happiness of their community. In their free time, they enjoy good conversation, along with cultivating an organically grown communal flower garden. When there's news to be heard, one can always count on these three to know even the smallest details of a matter!

Author's notes:

It's probably pretty obvious that these three represent the various communication-centric features of GJ, such as comments, the forums, and so on. I like to think of their positivity and peaceful surroundings as being a sort of model of the ideal community vibe we could hope for here on Game Jolt.

Since the community is such a tremendous focus here, the butterflies have been used in lots of different ways on the site. At times, when I've received an assignment to create a new graphic, it's actually been hard not to think "Tim, Tam, and Tom would be perfect for that," because they're so easy to use in various scenarios.

The second image I included was made for an article about two years ago. It's a favorite of mine, because it really emphasizes the strong team spirit shared by these lovable characters.

Fabric / wallpaper surface pattern design for a challenge on Spoonflower themed around painterly florals.

Unfortunately, I had to rush this one at the last minute, but a customer already bought a swatch, so I guess I didn't do too badly! LOL

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well today.

Here's the finished illustration I made for my friend who had the stroke recently. She's doing great, by the way—recovering well and making good progress with physical therapy.

Here's a fabric pattern (and variations) I made for a challenge with the theme "craft maximalism." I prefer minimalism, so I wasn't very hyped to participate, but managed to make something I liked.

Also, thank you so much for 20k followers!

Happy Devruary! Devruary Day 3 celebrates @Jacorn ! He's a small game developer working on a few projects including Forgotten at Fredbear's! We also have a question for the devs of Game Jolt: What game made you want to be a dev?

Folded this origami wood duck to send to a relative who collects duck decoys.

Hope everyone is well and staying warm—it's been very cold where I am, so I'm bundling up and staying close to the woodstove.

Lots of love, and wishing you all a good week!

Happy Devruary! Devruary Day 4 celebrates @ElPichon ! They're just a bird who likes to draw! They're also the developer behind The Bunny Graveyard II and Chunky JUMP!. We also have a question for the devs of Game Jolt: How Did You Learn Game Dev?

Anything in particular you'd like to see announced from Nintendo partners?

Wooow, thank you so much for the background, @Efe69888 !

It's hard to believe it's been over a year since I made this background, wut... Made it back in July of 2024. Blender, of course.

Been a crazy busy week for me so far. Hope everyone's well!

Happy Devruary! Devruary Day 5 celebrates @ExpoDev ! He's the founder of PMH Interactive and is working on The Obsessive Shadow and more. We also have a question for the devs of Game Jolt: What keeps you making games when it gets tough?

This is the first time I'm revealing the last post background I made for my joltbux shop. (Note: Creators cannot make free shop items.)

Proud of how this one turned out. I made the mist effect in Blender and painted the scene in Krita.

Happy weekend!
