Oh this day, legendary and honored musician from Chechnya, nicknamed Sarmak, died.
His real name was Zaur Mazhiev and he was born in 1985, but after the start of the Chechen war he was forced to leave for Belgium, where his creative path began.
Zaur was fascinated by the paganism of the Vainakh people. His style of music can be described as raw black metal with pagan themes and a sad feel.
He had quite a few projects that he was involved in, the most famous was "Lycanthropy's Spell".
A small fact: Zaur's pseudonym "Sarmak" was taken from Vainakh mythology, denoting a dragon living in the bowels of the earth (I may be wrong).
Unfortunately, he died on September 11, 2005 from heart failure. Rest in peace, Sarmak!
