The changes in this version (v2.0.8) include:

• Added community Russian (Русский) localization (translated by Zakuro, proofread by TheEpicTea, sprites/font by Anasu Meruku, voice acted by The Th3rd Sergeevich)

• Updated credits

• Fixed a bug with cutscene position in the Ruthless route

If you've been keeping up with our progress reports, we mentioned being in the process of figuring out guidelines (i.e. submission requirements, quality standards, etc.) and avenues for community-made localization patches to be officially added in-game. We figured it out now!

(NOTE: Our website hasn't been updated with the below information just yet.)

Our overall plan is to evaluate patches on a case-by-case basis once substantial progress has been made. Please consult our website's updated localization page for the following:

• Guidelines and resources for having community localizations added to the game.

• A list of currently-supported languages, and those which are planned or in-development.

At the same time, we've been providing assistance and consultation for community localizers developing patches for Russian (Русский) and Italian (Italiano) -- the former of which has now been added in-game, and marks our first community-made localization for Demo v2.0!

We know that some of you have been eagerly awaiting updates for our official Spanish (Español), Brazilian Portuguese (Português Brasileiro), and Dutch (Nederlands) localizations. Rest assured, these are still in development. The translators behind them do this as a hobby -- and with only one person behind each patch, it can take a very long time to translate over 16,600 lines of text with quality and accuracy. Not only does this include all new content for Starlight Isles across multiple routes, but also small edits made to Ruined Home for Demo v2.0.

The current status on each localization is:

• Spanish (Español) -- translated up to Starstruck Village. Our localizer prefers to handle this by herself, since she has a specific vision on how to handle the translation.

• Dutch (Nederlands) -- translated up to Starstruck Village.

• Brazilian Portuguese (Português Brasileiro) -- translated to Starstruck Village with a good chunk done, in the process of tweaking some parts from the Demo v1.0 translation. Our localizer is open to assistance with this one, for anyone interested!

• Italian (Italiano) -- finished testing Koffin Keep, now translating Starstruck Village.

We're really looking forward to these eventually being made available for public use. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding!

If you missed it, we released an April 2024 "Spring Cleaning" devlog which served as a showcase for smaller-scope tasks we've been working on -- involving refinements to existing content, and explaining our design philosophies thereof. This included:

• Updated Papyrus dialogue portraits and battle heads.

• Completely remade Temmie overworld and dialogue/battle sprites.

• Current status on re-styled Boogiemen battle sprites.

• Updated battle button icons (including new empty ITEMs variant.)

• New Muffet dialogue SFX.

• Reworks and polish to various assets we mentioned but did not showcase (i.e. Bugerpant overworld sprites, Mad Dummy battle sprites, Flowey dialogue portraits, etc.)

We also made some small improvements to our website's FAQ page to better describe what's listed on our Support page (i.e. info on Mac support ending, etc.), and the aforementioned localization support information.

As a final reminder, we're generally more active on Bluesky and Discord than other platforms. If you want to receive more informal updates regarding development or planned progress reports, check those out! GameJolt and YouTube are saved for more formal purposes.
