Tutorial 2.0, Camera Manager and more! | Status Devlog #16

Welcome folks to a new Status Devlog.
I hope you enjoy the Specta Update so far but I have some great news to tell you. Let’s start.

Holding keys for Special Effects!

This brand new feature is finally coming. I ever wanted to implement this.
As you know if you want to activate a smoke machine or flamethrower you press the depending button and that’s it. Not anymore. You affect the duration of the special effect now! Simply hold the key for as long as you want and the special effect won’t stop emitting until you stop pressing it.
Special Effects with this feature: All smoke machines and flamethrowers.

Tutorial 2.0

It is official now that we get a new Tutorial.
Like I said in a previous devlog, the current Tutorial is an absolute desaster. I took my time to create a way better, much more cleverer and simpler Tutorial that is pretty much a bug free experience.
And this is what it looks like:

As you can see there are three tutorials now “First Steps”, “The Managers” and “Special Effects”. These will teach you the most important things in Stage Simulator.

In this picture you can see the Tutorial while it teaches you a function. I also customized all three Managers in the Tutorials to make it quite simpler and clear. Also at the bottom you can see the exact key that you have to press to go on. Every previous activated function will be turned off as soon as you continue by pressing a key, that you can see everything at the stage and nothing disturbs you.

The new Camera Manager Feature

I talked about the Camera Manager in one of the previous episode and now I am ready to show you a little sneak peek.

There it is. Please reming that the Helicopter Camera will not be accessible by pressing the H key anymore. For that you need the Camera Manager now which you can open via the Client or the F5 key.
One other thing was, that I really hardly thought about this manager before I’ve implemented it. I don’t want to fill Stage Simulator with managers you don’t need. But as some of you said that you want to see the cameras in the control tents in fullscreen I thought that this was the best solution.

Safety Signs

One more little addition will be safety signs.
They will give Stage Simulator even more depth and realism.

Stage Machinery Index

Also the Stage Machinery Index will be added in Update 0.19.
It will contain all stage machinery objects in Stage Simulator and you can inform yourself about them, when they are used, what they are for and more.
I will design that like a little wiki page.

And we reached the end again of this Devlog filled with news about this game.
I don’t know the exact release date of this update yet but I will do my best to bring it out this month.
I hope you have a great week! :)
