Heya! Welcome to the first official dev log for my Undertale demake project, Undertale On Gameboy! As you can see in the photo attached to the post above, today we will be discussing my very limited ruins progress so far, and also my plans for the game. Onwards we go!
Ruins progress
Sprites:
I am currently working on a few character sheets for the RUINS (the first area in development, probably obvious enough though).
So far, I've got:
Not much, but it's progress nonetheless!
Plans
I'm gonna rip off that worn-out band aid of yours early:
Obviously I cannot 1:1 recreate the game (take Omega Flowey, for example) so I will be taking some creative liberties here and there
However, I will also be adding some new stuff to spice up the game (it HAS been 8 years now...) and make it a bit more appealing to those who have seen it all already. (e.g. something of my own under Papyrus' sink, being able to go through the ruins city, maybe some side quests or secret bosses as well? I'm also thinking of extending FUN to 200 to keep old events and add new ones).
Also just for releases, I'll release the port one area at a time. For a more basic understanding:
Ruins - V1
Snowdin - V2
Waterfall - V3
Hotland - V4
CORE - V4.5
New Home (Full game) - V5
Question time!
At the end of each poll, I will ask you guys about something you will be able to vote on in the polls, for example todays question is:
Gameboy Studio has some options for the Super Gameboy (a add-on for the SNES that lets you play GB games) that let you add a custom border and different colour pallete to green, and a Gameboy Colour mode that lets you add colour to your games. Will I add these in? It shouldn't really affect development time too dramatically, but it could ruin the aesthetic if you don't have an original GAMEBOY DMG system. Vote in the polls!
