Today is a little game called Undertale's 5th Anniversary. It's insane to think an indie game passion project released 5 years ago would still have such the impact that it has today.

To me personally, Undertale has changed my life. It was just like any other game, right? That's what I thought. I discovered it by a combination of intention and accident, lucky chance and a certain Track 27. Such a bizarre entry to what was merely a game surely isn't life changing, right?

Well, how was I to know. Maybe it was the beautifully composed music that Toby Fox made. Maybe it was the colourful and exciting characters he created. Maybe it was the hilarious antics and encounters that I found when delving into Undertale's world. But something did pull me in, and still is doing so.

Undertale is my favourite game, and probably will stay that way until something more remarkable finds its way to my heart. But I've been living with Undertale for the last few years, and have learnt that of all the gifts Undertale gave us, it was creativity.

AUs, comics, sprites, music and tracks, fangames, so much creativity poured out of us across the internet and still is pouring. We are still taking the time to see how we can use one game, one world, and make it into thousands. Isn't that an incredible thing?

So to end this love letter to Undertale, all I can say is to this Eccentric, Undertale will always have a place in its heart.

Thanks Toby, and Temmie too. And all those who made Undertale come to life, and still keep it alive.
