Well, I didn't want to do this so soon, but yeah, I'm sadly announcing that Five Nights At Beari's is cancelled... for the time being.
I know I announced the game not too long ago, but I have to cancel it already, at least scrap it as of being on the Pocket Code engine. Now, I'm not saying it's cancelled permanently, I'm saying it's cancelled FOR NOW. It's a temporary cancellation. When I get the resources and stuff, development will restart on the Clickteam Fusion engine. The reason behind this temporary cancellation is because of a lack of tutorials from Ryanzero that helped me work on the game. It's actually been 4 years since he made the two tutorials and it seems unlikely that he'll make a third one.
I'm trying to see about releasing the prototype build of Five Nights at Beari's online to be downloaded from here and Itch io, but I'm facing an Issue after building the APK. Pocket Code would not let me build the APK directly by uploading it to the Catrobat Community and downloading the APK from there, as i would get an error saying "Upload Failed, please check your Internet Connection and try again," despite having strong Wi-Fi. I'm assuming that it's just showing the error for no reason or the ability to upload Pocket Code projects to the Catrobat Community has been removed.
I would use the Apktool M app to build the APK, but then I ran into another problem. After Installing and opening, the game just crashes immediately, and I would receive a message saying "Five Nights At Beari's has crashed because the app has a bug." I have set the minimum SDK to run on an Android 11 and the target SDK to run on Android 15 (The version of Android that I have actually tested FNAB on) and that might have been the cause of it. I will try again, but if I get the crash again, then I'm just not gonna release the FNAB prototype publicly.
The bottom line...
I am unable to continue working on Five Nights At Beari's in Pocket Code. I will soon move the game's development to Clickteam Fusion 2.5. It's not exactly free software, but when I do get the engine, I will restart development on FNAB. I will target the game for PC first, then Android.
Thank you guys for taking your time to read this and understanding.
