This took me a while to actually release the update, but here we are. Update 2.1 is finally out as is - I've been sitting on it for too long due to things I've been busy with such as college and various Team Starshroom SMBX2 projects.
Please report any bugs or oversights in the comments or on the SCW Discord server. I'll assure you, I'll try to make some more bite-sized updates like this in the future, as making big updates would be a chore and would make me lose a lot of motivation for this project.
Current SMWar 2.0 Build used: Experimental Build based on changes on May 6 and July 16, 2024
WARNING: Major coding changes introduced. This may corrupt saved settings! To fix this, navigate to C:/Users/(PC username)/.smw , and simply delete the following files as deemed necessary:
- controls.sdl2.bin - Control settings for all players are stored here
- options.bin - Default game options for various things listed in the Options menu (graphics packs, sound packs, announcer, gameplay/team/item changes, etc.)
- leveleditor.bin and worldeditor.bin - Meant for use with the level and world editors
- servers.yml - Data for stored servers in experimental Online LAN Multiplayer
Saved settings in SCW 2.1 or bleeding edge/experimental builds of SMWar will not be necessarily compatible with past versions, delete the files if you wish to play on past versions of SMWar and SCW.

TECHNICAL (GAME)
+ Updated the game to an experimental SMWar build on May 6, 2024:
-- Several lines have been cleaned up in the SMWar source code
-- Improved PNG support: files that are normally loaded in the BMP format can now use PNGs instead. This includes skins, mode skins, palettes, among others.
-- If the game crashes, an error message will now be displayed.

Tilesets
+ Added two RazeTiles sheets (by RazeZX), featuring custom hand-drawn tilesets based on Geometry Dash, Sonic the Hedgehog and other sources as well as some extra alt recolors for existing tilesets
+ Added Objects_14 tileset (by EleCyon), featuring ripped + edited assets from the Shovel Pirate game
- (Bug Fix) Missing tiles and alignment errors have been fixed.
Backgrounds
