Wena cabros!
It’s been a while since I had uploaded a post. Although I've never been a dev who shares much about what happens behind the scenes, I'd like to actually start making devlogs about the game due to the new demo that I’m planning to release early next year.
Remarking things
Before starting this devlog, I want to let you know that the page thumbnail has been updated and it now features a new animation! There's also a new teaser for the game which you’ve already seen in this post. (You can check it on the teasers board)
Now, let's talk about the game itself. I’ve been working hard on it. To be honest, I won't lie to you: I haven't worked on it as much as I used to. The reason? Since last year I’ve been experiencing ups and downs, and in general, I’ve focused more on living my life and dealing with depression more than developing this game. That doesn’t mean I don’t plan to continue developing the game, but I just need you to empathize with me.
I’ve been making FNaF fangames and other games since I was 13; now, I’m 20. Although I haven’t released any of them besides from TRTF 1 Remake, I’ve been doing different things and collaborating with people.
I’m kind of tired of working on FNaF projects. Because of that, I haven’t progressed as much as I would have liked. I had planned this game to be released this year, or at least have a demo ready in August, but it didn’t happen. Nevertheless, things are starting to come into place, and I’m now determined to finish this project once and for all.
What is in the game rn?
As for what's in the game right now, the nights are fully complete. Whereas you can possibly think, the main gameplay is quite complex. There are multiple behaviours for characters, a character hierarchy system to prevent them messing up with each other, and different parameters such as advantages and disadvantages that switch the rules of the game. There are also events that can only happen under certain conditions, and a ton of easter eggs related to the story.
Also, the game contains several cutscenes and post-night levels that differ greatly from one another. There are even some custom night challenges, each with a different set of rules. In addition, minigames coexist with all of this, though they’re neither fully finished nor close to be completed.
In conclusion
This post is not meant to be an excuse to wash my hands for doing “nothing”, but rather an attempt of being more transparent after being quiet for a while. This game is a huge challenge. I’m doing this game almost entirely by myself. Likewise, I’m working on myself and trying to be "down-to-earth", and avoiding falling into the depression abyss that used to consume me.
Finally, I’d like to thank all of you who have waited so patiently. I really appreciate it. And your continued support of my work, despite my absence, motivates me to continue this project. All I can ask is that you be patient, and I hope to see you in a next post!
(For those who have come this far, tomorrow I’ll upload a video showcasing a night).
