Hey guysss it's been a bit, i've been working on adding a few new things to the game to make it more "gamey".
I started working on the menus for the overworld and end of battle, they are still a work in progress but at least now you can see your actual stats in game!! You can open the overworld menu with C, but careful, you can still move and interact with npcs while it's open, it's a very barebones implementation.
Alsoo, like the title says, say goodbye to that ugly and badly programmed yellow heart enemy, say hello to the new ugly and badly programmed CLOVER!!! Clover will be a supporting character in the final game, and they are your new training buddy!
Speaking of training, now you can play the tutorial segment! When talking to Flowey he will ask if you want to start the tutorial, it will teach you the basics of the controls and mechanics of the game. If you rather just fight Clover then you can talk to them and it will give you the option to just spar with them.
The Clover AI is still a work in progress, right now they only have the one attack they do on a distance, and they will only walk to chase you, but I'm planning to add a close range attack and a wandering mode like the old heart had. Adding Clover was harder than i thought because i had to make a generic enemy "core" that can be identified by the player character, but now that that's done, adding new enemies should be way easier.
Also, i insist that art is not my strong suit, that's why all the art is temporary, especially the overworld art since i made it TOO BIG and need to size Frisk and Clover down. But i will start working on making the art better once i implemented all the main gameplay mechanics and menus.
Also also, I changed the battle music to the original battle theme made by me, check it out in the Gamejolt music player or in the next Youtube link on my channel!:
If you have any issues with the tutorial fight please tell me in the comments, right now I'm aware that losing still makes you restart the game, but changing that will take a bit more time, and i wanted to release a new version with the new tutorial mode. I'm also aware that the "ACTs" with Clover are kinda messed up, especially the "Close Range" ACT, but that one's because I'm planning on removing those ones, I only want there to be contextual ACTions (like the pillar one), the close range one feels way too easy to pull off.
Thanks for downloading!
