This is the director of Vansinne Team. Since a while back, our team has been collaborating with developer, LiminalNS, to create The Return to Freddy's: Ascent. Recently, the trailer has come out announcing our collaboration with the project, and I'm going to discuss all about it in this post.

What is TRTF Ascent?

The Return to Freddy's: Ascent, created by LiminalNS, is a reimagining of the cancelled "The Return to Freddy's 5" created by Edmund Ahlström. The title is a free roam puzzle game being programmed in the Unreal Engine.

The game takes inspiration from multiple eras of TRTF 5, but it mostly takes a lot of visual inspiration from what TRTF fans know as "The Remastered Era." The title also specializes in having animatronic designs that look more like "The Hybrid Animatronics" from early versions of TRTF 5 rather than the more well known "Tortured Animatronics." The game, while in early development, is already in the play-testing stage, as members of our team have already played it early!

The Game-Page + How this title became a part of The Vansinne Team

The developer of this title began developing Ascent during the year of 2025. Recently, in the year of 2026, LiminalNS was let on our development team to help with modeling for Metamorphosis. While helping out, the developer requested us if we could help him publish his already existing title. Since he was already on our team, as a way to return the favor of helping us develop Metamorphosis, we agreed to help publish Ascent!

A agreement that was made was that our team would help promote and publish the game, as long as heavy emphasis was made that it was in a different continuity from Metamorphosis. Since the page was already pre-existing, we believe it was better if it stayed up on its original page, but our team will promote it as one of our own projects.

Even though we are helping create and publish the game as a Vansinne title, the original developer still has complete creative control over his project, so no worries about us infiltrating development or anything. Personally I think the game looks very promising and even though it's heavily inspired from TRTF 5, a fan-game that has been remade multiple times, the game has elements that make it unique from the others, and we're all looking forward to its release!
