Version 0.3 - "Suit Up" Patch Notes


The second and very long awaited update of the remaster is here! Due to cutting down on the content size, it'll mainly just be returning content, and some extra stuff on the side!

New Content

  • 3 New Enemy Modifiers

    • Regenerative - Enemies regenerate back layers they might've lost, and enemies with more than 1 max health will recover missing health over time. Regenerated layers can't split into multiple children, so don't worry about flooding your defenses!

    • Packed - Enemies burst into 3 of their normal variants, but they move slower and can't regenerate back into their packed form.

    • Shielded - Enemies gain a protective shield that soaks up some damage, provides immunity to slowing and stunning debuffs, AND resists magic damage!

    • These modifiers are only available in Sandbox for the time being.

  • Tower Skin System

    • Upon hitting tower rank 5, you unlock Tower Skins! Spend 1000 of your precious stones to unlock any available skins for your towers.

    • Only returning skins will be added for a while, and you can see which those are further down in the patch notes.

  • Tower Rank 5 is here!

    • It requires way more experience than Tower Rank 4, but fear not! Any excess experience gathered before this update is saved and will be put into getting Tower Rank 5. You will need to do a round with the tower placed before it registers, however.

Returning Content

  • 3 Returning Towers: Cannon, Aura Booster, and Aquatic Gem

  • 1 Returning Tower Skin: Bow (Crossbow)

  • 2 Returning Maps:

    • Loop

      • A flowery garden so pretty that you can't resist going in circles!

    • Airborne

      • Take to the skies in a flying battlefield. The forecast warns of rain, so be careful up there!

  • 1 Returning Enemy: Magic Crusher

    • Similarly to the new enemy modifiers, the Magic Crusher is only available in Sandbox, but requires beating round 100 to unlock

  • 1 Returning Game Mode: Master Mode

    • A true test of skill! Just like the original, all income generating towers are banned, you can't lose any lives, and towers can't be sold! But unlike the original, you now start on Round 6! Do you have what it takes?

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where bouncing hitscan projectiles were targeting the wrong targets

  • Fixed a bug where Aerolyte and her Deploy Turret's targeting priorities were always synced

  • Fixed a bug where Aerolyte would fly behind enemies on Pursuit if they were being knocked back

  • Fixed a bug where Aerolyte would fly on top of enemy children on Pursuit if they were destroyed while stunned

General Changes

  • When placing towers, passive buff icons will now be shown, in case you need to know which buffs a tower will get upon placement

  • The tutorial no longer limits fast forward speed to 3x nor restricts auto-start

  • Anti-stall system reworked slightly

    • The system now works separately per enemy instead of being based on the final enemy spawn in a round

    • Additionally, the timer ticks at different speeds depending on how severely an enemy is being slowed

    • If an enemy is just slowed, the timer will tick up based on how much they're slowed, ranging from 0x - 1x

    • If an enemy is stunned, the timer will tick up at the default pace of 1x

    • If an enemy is knocked back, the timer will tick up based on how severe the knockback is, minimum of 1x

Specific Changes

Tomb Raiser

  • Difficulty moved from Advanced to Expert

  • If the map was unlocked, Airborne will now be automatically unlocked

  • If the map key was obtained, Airborne's map key will automatically be obtained, and the Advanced Key will turn into an Expert Key

    • Otherwise, Tomb Raiser will be relocked

  • Extra stones will be given for any completed gamemodes, to compensate for the amount that would've been earned

Game Modes

  • Hard & Extreme now start on Round 3

  • Last Stand now starts on Round 31, ends on Round 60, and only gives $20000 starting cash

    • Rounds 61-80 are far too brutal on harder maps with the cash limit - so instead of trying to balance around that, the gamemode will end right before those rounds hit

Drill Sniper

  • (x/4/x) Drill Supply is now given between rounds, and shows up passively for placement purposes

Magic Orb

  • (x/2/x) Corrected a small error in Scorching Flames' upgrade description

  • (x/x/4) Nature Shifter's ice aura no longer vanishes between rounds

  • (x/x/4) Nature Shifter's venom aura damage type changed from Normal to Magic

Cash Producer

  • (x/3+/x) Grouped Income is now given between rounds, and shows up passively for placement purposes

Aerolyte

  • Majority of level descriptions of have been changed to not include Aerolyte's name - it was kinda repetitive

  • Customizable Hotkeys

    • Will be found in the general settings menu

Returning Content

  • 1 Returning Tower: Machine Gun

  • 1 Returning Hero: Electro-Shock

  • 3 Returning Tower Skins: Water Guns (Oceanic Ship), Magic Wall (Magic Orb), and Cauldron (Brewing Station)

  • 2 Returning Maps: Long Walk and Void
