Game
Electrosphere

Very unfortunate news: this game has now met a similar fate to it's predecessors. Please click through to learn more about why I came to this decision.

So; as all 3 of you might know, Electrosphere (and it's former "Spheroid" predecessors) have a kindof troubled history.

Theres more to learn in the article https://gamejolt.com/p/so-let-s-talk-about-the-spiritual-predecessor-spheroid-spher-dxdib7bh ; but the main paragraph that is relevant here, is this:

"Unfortunately; the remake proved to be unsuccessful in rejuvenating my interest in the game, and what used to be a joyous hobby project was now doomed. With no visible support for the game, no revenue being made, and lacking further creative ideas... I made some last-ditch efforts to change my own mind, but ultimately, Spheroid met an untimely demise on the first of April, 2019."

Its unfortunate, especially with the as-of-yet-un-released ideas I had for the game's future and a music composer poised to create an unforgettable auditory backdrop for said ideas, but I have come to the decision to cancel this iteration of my dead-horse "Spheroid" in much the same way as mentioned above.

Although this time around, the causes are slightly different. having not payed a dime to create this game, I have less to lose than spheroid did- Spheroid having cost me more than $100 USD to publish on steam thanks to Valve's greedy 30% revenue cut and bogus "processing fees" which ultimately only managed to pay themselves off with no additional revenue or other financial gain coming in despite months of hard work.

with Electrosphere; the lack of support from the community is much more justified. Unlike spheroid, you haven't gotten anything, so I have no realistic right to ask for anything in return; even as much as I wish people were more excited.

So; simply put, Electrosphere is canceled. I cannot emotionally or financially afford to work my tail off for nothing in return; especially for a game idea that I no longer feel inspired or excited by. It was fun back when I had cool ideas for it, but those ideas are boring now and I want to move on. I wish i could end this article in a more professional-sounding way but i cant, so i'll just end this right in the middle of a-

vault door. Just one very small part of a larger fan-animation project I'm slowly working on

Introducing: the Databyte! I designed them to resemble SD cards; which seemed like the best choice for a Mario-coin-ish collectible item, considering the game's plot and their generally compact shape. Perfect to display the value, too. (in editor screen)

random thing i half-accidentally made when trying to import a portal 2 map i made, into blender. instead of importing the whole map, it only imported the models at one location due to an error. i thought it was cool so i polished it up and made a gif. :D

If you guys also play gmod, i made a portal-ish themed map for it set in an AU aperture science facility. :) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=265277909…

edit: for those unaware; this post wasn't meant to be taken seriously.
