War Room

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been working on structures for the save data, string tables parsing (you never know it might get localized)…bunch of uninteresting stuff. I’ve decided to take a break from those as soon as I was able to build the base, and go back to working on graphics.

This is the “War Room”. It’s just a fancy term for the main screen. You choose a map to play, among other things.

I need feedback on my UI. Be it the button design, palette, fonts, whatever. These are already laid out in the editor, but no functionality yet.
The target devices are mobile and WebGL (e.g. Game Jolt), with optional gamepad support.

The girl graphics and the background are placeholders. Still cooking up an awesome background appropriate for the scene.

I thought I had move on...but Google Play warned me to update my app to support the latest Android version or else it would be taken down. Now I have new gameplay ideas so I decided to make another update. Coming to Gamejolt soon!

Title Screen v3

Concept design for the Dark Forest level. #gamedev

War Room Redux After gathering some feedback about the War Room mockup I made, here’s an updated one. The background is no longer a placeholder, and I removed the “girl” character…it takes away from the scene.

I'm starting on a new level (Dark Forest), but before I dress it up I need to make sure it plays good, so I start by laying out the paths using wireframe tilesets. #gamedev

I ran the same test with the Player Swap mechanic. You can only choose between one or the other, depends on your decision on who will join your adventure. #gamedev #godstear #madewithunity

Update 1.1.8c is out now. With this I have optimized the game to take up around 300mb of RAM. Hopefully this eliminates all those ANRs and crashes! Check it out: https://tinyurl.com/2s43rhk8

Player Assist work in progress. Close, long, and mid range attacks. #gamedev #godstear #madewithunity

Done with character swapping! Swap between the melee tank (Aether) and the long ranged mage (Myst). It's gonna be be fun designing levels that accommodate contrasting play styles. #screenshotsaturday

Combat test with the Player Assist system. It can get frantic! #gamedev #screenshotsaturday #madewithunity
