These redesigns were done because the creator wasn't convinced by the old designs, as they weren't scary and were extremely ugly recolors, albeit shiny.
The first designs were literally whintered versions of the toys, but most of them became LOST media.

The second designs were basically the same character, but DARK and black, like the cube from Wander Over Yonder, LOL, and they didn't give off that scary feeling either.

And then there's the third design, which, well, you know what it's like; it's literally dirty, gory, and smelly.
