If you weren't already aware, there was a game prior to The Edge that I was developing with a very similar premise, but unfortunately didn't go very far. I wanted to take the idea and start anew.
As a reward for passing 135 followers, the amount the old game page had, I'm going to list the differences between both games!
Main character has a new name, as well as his family and the tragic backstory. There are also new additional characters.
Instead of a therapy dog animatronic, there used to be a parrot. This parrot was named Avis. He wasn't scary enough.
Harold Smith, formerly known as Alex Birch, was also diagnosed with depression, not just schizophrenia. Now it is just severe schizophrenia.
The old game was planned to have been in a stationary office with different characters coming from different ways: a closet to the left, a door to the right, a window into the building in the front, and an exit door behind you. It used to be a warehouse as well, and would function similar to Jolly 3 or FNAF: SL where you could roam around point-and-click style and do separate night tasks before leaving.
The new storyline is one I plan to not continue, but rather have other games take place in the same world but not the same continued story Harold had.
The old storyline was going to be a one game thing, a stand alone. I felt telling the story of this poor man's life and horrific mental issues was something special. But it didn't ring, stick, or feel meaningful.
Hope this gave you all a little treat while we have been working behind the scenes.
Currently, our talented modeller @Accalialpha , is modelling the iconic dog animatronic, Kaizer. We hope to see you soon!
