Recently I've heard rumours of an UNDERTALE Remake (possibly in HD), and while I don't think it'll actually happen, I figured I'd make a list of stuff I want from it so I can revisit this post if it does actually happen and see if I got anything right.
Everything I list here will be rated between 1-3 ❤️'s depending on how much I think it would improve the game.
1 ❤️'s - Would be nice, but not necessary
2 ❤️'s - Would be a great addition
3❤️'s - A literal game changer
So, without any further ado...
A completed Hard Mode (❤️❤️❤️)
This is probably the feature the most people in the UT community (me included) want.
Hard Mode would give you a reason to play through the whole game again and gives experienced players more of a challenge.
It could also be a chance to fix the lacklustre genocide route.
Imagine it: Proper genocide fights for Muffet, Papyrus, Mettaton NEO... Maybe even a few new fights (possibly optional) like Gerson or Flowey!
Hard Mode could fix what is (debatably) UNDERTALE's biggest flaw...
But enough rambling about Hard Mode. Next is...
Quality-Of-Life features (❤️❤️❤️)
These could be many things.
What I'd like to see is:
Running (though this may break some sections of the game and/or make them shorter and thus easier)
Side Quests (to expand the world a little more)
An index for monsters, collectibles, side quests and etc.
Borders from the console versions
(if possible) a togglable 16:9 ratio
Better trophies/Achievements (I mean come on Toby, you said you had LOTS of ideas!)
And maybe some more FUN Events
These would add a whole new breath of life to the game and make an UNDERTALE remaster worth it on it's own.
(A lot of these ideas are taken from TS!UNDERSWAP.)
And now...
A fully connected sink (❤️❤️)
This might sound confusing with the name I've given it, but hear me out:
The PS4/Vita, Xbox and Switch versions of UNDERTALE all have exclusive content hidden away in Sans' and Papyrus' sink.
What if this remake had all of that content together in one package?
The Dog Shrine, the Mad Mew Mew fight and Gambling all together in one package...
It wouldn't be necessary, but it'd be really nice to have.
The way I see it working is once you fully complete the Dog Shrine you get the Mew Mew fight followed by GAMBLING (and maybe it could loop back again once you've bought everything by GAMBLING)
And finally...
Upgraded Graphics & Music (❤️)
Imagine if every sprite in UNDERTALE was remastered with shading & whatever else to look really high quality, and that all of the music was redone to sound even better (somehow).
This one is simpler to understand, and probably wouldn't be too hard for Toby to do.
However it isn't necessary at all, and should definitely be an option if it happens, because UNDERTALE has a very unique style to it, and people may prefer the old sprites and music to the new ones and etc.

And that's all I have!
I really do hope we get an UNDERTALE Remaster, even if I don't think it's actually that likely. Especially with Toby Fox and Friends focusing on Deltarune's development
(they promised Chapter 5 by 2026 - that's less than a maximum of 15 months they have as of writing this.)
It would be so cool to have an excuse to revisit the world of UNDERTALE and get a fresh new experience after 10 years.

And who knows? Maybe Toby will add a side quest where you set up Drunk Bun and Sans on a date...
