Hi ya'll! A little early for the next devlog but I wanted to write up on plans for the game to give you all a better idea of what to expect! I imagine with the stage I'm at -developing world building and level design, there's not a lot I can really share as I figure things out. So apologies in advance that I won't have any more exciting devlogs after this! However I'll still do monthly updates to show I'm still actively developing the game.
What is Angel's Lullaby?
In Angel's Lullaby, you play as an undead human who's made a deal with the Angel to be granted your Power. Your goal? Survive the war and live your life!
What do you do in Angel's Lullaby?
Unlike Undertale's linear progression, Angel's Lullaby aims to have an open world to explore with different optional party members. (Up to 2 at a time). Uncover secret lore, battle within the Main Route's Pacifist/No Mercy options and fulfill side-quests or stay safe at home!

I plan for the full release to have a large map for you to explore but in the Demo you will only have a small section to roam. This is partly because I want to leave the rest of the map to be a surprise, and also to ensure the Demo will be out in a more timely manner. You'll have access to the First area, while there's 3 major areas in the full version.

You will have a home to return to, with a parent who will cook you meals and sing you nightly lullabies. At home you'll be able to collect:
clothing accessories and outfits
trinkets to place on your bedroom shelf
food recipes for your parent to cook
Roughly 5 lullabies sung by my music artist PotatoArts!
Each day you'll tend to your chores as well as...
The farm!

The newest addition planned: farming mechanics! An easy way to get the food for the recipes you find -or earn the money to purchase, is to farm! Tend to the family farm and make your parent proud!
I want Angel's Lullaby to have a mix of intense adventure, chill exploration and relaxing down times. While not completely optional, if you don't like farming you don't have to do it for long. Likewise, if you enjoy it, you can put adventure to the backseat for as long as you like!

For the main gameplay, you'll have both Magic and Weapons to use at your disposal. The magic is situational, but weapons can be found and used in both battle and overworld. (Think the older Zelda games)
...And I believe that covers it! I still got a lot of planning and prototyping to do, but I believe all of this will be manageable! Feel free to suggest ideas or give feedback, thank you in advance!
