Hello everyone, AnthoJolter here. Just wanted to make an article about what's happened with Darkened Spirits and give out some answered questions. So let's begin:

Q: What happened to Darkened Spirits? Is it dead/cancelled?

A: No, Darkened Spirits is not cancelled just a bit on hold. You see I've been doing other things other than Darkened Spirits and Darkened Spirits has been a bit of a pickle when it comes to story.

You see back then I used to think up the story as I continued to develop the game rather than use an actual script.

I am also developing a new engine which would be the basis for PLUS Reworked and will be used for the remaster of Darkened Spirits.

So that's what's happened to Darkened Spirits, it's been on hold. But don't worry, that might happen shortly. Me and @BECtheGameJolter just need a bit more time to think up some ideas.

Q: When will Darkened Spirits be released?

A: Well I did promise I said I would release it back in 2019 or 2020 and well...that never happened. But for this I'm thinking about a 2022 release (since that's when the second Sonic movie will come out) or just release it when the game is done. Although I will still put out demos to show the game's progress.

Q: Will the game have voice acting?

A: I have though about it but all I could say is, maybe. We'll have to wait and see.

Q: Will there be a sequel?

A: Yes. But for now you'll have to wait until Darkened Spirits is finished.

Q: Will there ever be a crossover of Darkened Spirits with some other EXE Game?

A: Well there has been with Phantom Saga and some others with friends. But with one's that have Exetior and Exeller...that's kind of VERY unlikely.

Q: Are there gonna be games that are not/related to Darkened Spirits?

A: Yes, I am thinking of a spin-off title called Sonic: The Lost Jester which tells the story of another character who's gonna be in Darkened Spirits, Jenic.

Q: Is Darkened Spirits part of GoldCodeX now?

A: Yes.

Q: Will Darkened Spirits even get a GameJolt community or a Discord?

A: I have though about it but I feel like those will die in a week or so. But again I have interest so maybe.

Q: wHeN's tHe dOuBlE dEmO???

A: Again, you can get the source code, although I feel like that was a mistake since I should of made it in a playable application and not many people have Clickteam.

Besides that also led to...not so good things.

Q: Is there gonna be a new page for the remaster?

A: Yes but I want to wait until I'm almost done with a demo.

Q: Why are you making a post here then?

A: Because I can and besides the new page isn't out yet. But I also don't feel like doing it on the Luigikid "remastered" post.

Q: Will you make a non-Sonic/Sonic.exe game?

A: Yes.

Well that's all I have to say for now. A huge apology for everyone who's been waiting for a new release of this game. I just wanted to spill the beans and just inform what's been happening. But again thank you all for being so patient and thanks for sticking around.
