I've been focusing on further optimizations and adding new features. This is largely to have a full set of tools finished before fully committing to proper new content. This will also allow me to release a brand-new version of The Bumper Engine once I strip out my own personal assets.
This includes:
Optimized backend settings for Android and Desktop (this should further reduce RAM, CPU and GPU usage and all platforms)
Improved rail grinding system
Rail switching is now implemented
Rail boost pads are now implemented
Skydiving areas
Improved dash ramps
2.5D areas (both Boost/Classic style and those weird 2.5D sections the Avatar had in some levels in Forces like in Chemical Plant)
Destructible objects (currently just a metal crate)
The following are features I have planned but haven't implemented yet:
Wall jumping in 2.5D areas
Enhanced 2.5D areas (aka using splines to allow going into the foreground and background like in Generations and allowing 2.5D areas to curve in general)
Allowing Silver to pick up and throw objects
Allowing Metal Sonic to use his Black Shield when playable
Adding new enemy AI for the different enemy variants (the current ones are just reskins of the GUN Beetle and Motobug)
And that's all for now, just wanted to drop in and let you all know that there is work being done, even if I haven't updated the game in a while.
