Heya!
You may not know it, but Distorted Mind: True Humanity is, secretly, a remake of a cancelled old game of mine, so, I decided to properly show the origins of the game and how it changed, as I thought it would be fun.
The original game True Humanity was based upon had many names, but let's just stick to its last name before its eventual cancellation,
Project T.S.O.P
It started development at around 2016, at the time, I had no knowledge of, well, anything, so the development became rocky up until 2018, when it finally became an almost fully-fledged playable and competent game, however, it was so poorly optimized and had such bad coding that I decided to cancel it.
But now, I've managed to make a "remake" of the game. Almost everything changed due to the fact that I'm now older and I have quite a bit of knowledge on how to properly make a game, and a story, and characters, etc.
But I'll show you how some of the characters used to look like and then I'll go deeper onto the game...
The Characters
This was Lefty's old model, or "Lenny", how I used to call him. When I remade his model, I tried to make him yellow with a red tie and hat, but I realized that players might be confused, as they would think he might be Fredbear using Lefty's clothing pieces, but then, I realized "what if I just make him be Lefty instead", and so I did.
Also, by the time I made the old model, Lefty didn't even exist yet.
The original model was just... weird but kind of charming in a way. The new model was made purely to be the opposite of Lefty, however. I don't have much to say about him tho, he is basically an original design in the new game.
Another fact tho, Righty (as I like to call him)
Weirdly, this is somehow the most 1:1 recreation of the character, I mostly just made the clothes dark, added a few new face plate thingys, changed the proportions and added flesh everywhere.
Those are all the characters I remade, however, the old game had more characters, like a Squirrel, Spring Foxy and a weird pumpkin headed creature that was supposedly a not evil version of the human dude... The story was confusing and extremely edgy, so I will not discuss it any further, it didn't carry over to the "remake" at all.
However, the gameplay did, or at least, the idea, let me show you the old office.
The Gameplay
This is what the office used to look like, aside from looking terrible, you might realize something, or not, maybe.
On this version of the game, you could turn off the lights and power them up using the buttons on your desk, as you couldn't move around the office, you could just look from side to side and press buttons, however, there were cameras, but they were only like 3, and just one of them was useful.
Most of the characters, had different mechanics or placements, but for the main two, you had to see if they were at the door (you could tell due to their glowing eyes) and then you had to turn off or on the lights, however, turning the lights off would take about 3 seconds and turning the lights on would drain energy.
There were more intricacies, but I ain't gonna explain them all, as it would be a mess.
Now, to finish everything up, I want to point out some references to the original game in the remake:
This is a reference to the final boss of the OG game.
The head of the squirrel animatronic I mentioned before.
These weren't characters in the game but were lore relevant.
That's it for the post, if you are curious and want to know something about the old game you can simply ask in the comments.
