For so long, Batman would always address him as one of his greatest failures.
Joker killed Jason Todd and he was brought back to life by the Lazarus Pit, which tends to make victims a bit insane.
Thanks to the pit, he got his signature white streak. <3
He came back as the Red Hood, full of rage and wanting to clean up Gotham his own way. Bruce was filled with pain and dealt with his grief by being extra brutal on his nightly patrols as Gotham's vigilante. There was a noticeable difference in his behavior.
Writers never allowed a moment of healing between the two. There was constant tension and fighting.
Jason was offended that Bruce just found another Robin to replace him - Tim Drake. To him, he felt like trash that was thrown away and forgotten.
Jason is one of Bruce Wayne's sons albeit a rebellious one. He was just a street kid that managed to get his attention when he managed to steal a tire off the Batmobile. XD He also made Batman laugh! Impressive overall.
This is just one of those moments where it was long overdue. These panels were drawn beautifully. No dialogue, just this touching moment where father and son were reunited after all these years.
