so i was out and stopped by a dollar store near my house and picked up this really cheep halloween mask. it was legit 4 dollars but the plastic was sturdy.
tips for fixing cheep masks
(i used all of these for my mask)
• i used sunglasses lenses to cover the eye holes. i put mesh (i just used the cheep cover that came on the original mask) first and then the lenses.
• hot glue is so useful, i didn’t have a glue gun so i just used my lighter to melt it - i wouldn’t recommend doing this but it did work, be safe with it.
• i used black eye shadow with a paintbrush to add more color and texture to it (to set it you can use a sealing spray/clear coat spray or if you don’t have that you can use hairspray)
• if your mask if bulky or uncomfortable on the nose bridge or around the eyes, i recommend using those little foam pads for the legs of chair and tables.
• if you don’t like the look of your skin poking through the breathing holes i also used the mesh from the mask to cover those so i could still breathe but it looked more clean
• and lastly to substitute the probably bad quality head covering part of the mask i just cut a black tank top i had and glued it around the edges of the mask - if you have regular fabric pls use that, don’t cut your clothes - if that’s not sturdy enough use a string or elastic to help keep it in place (i used an old hoodie string and put it through the holes that were already there)
