Demon!Haiden - Calm Form

• Shifts into this form when he’s calm or he needs to conserve his energy.

• Can attack from the air or from the shadows, moving surprisingly silently for a heavy demonic animatronic.

• Snow Owl and Polar Bear inspirations.

• Behaviour is very maternal, will often act very broody (like a hen) and protective of those he deems family.

• Already Lucas and Ashley as his children due to his close bond with them,

• Is significantly stronger than a normal human and can easily outrun a car when chasing prey.

• Jaw can unhinge like a snakes but he usually just uses it for intimidation, he can eat normally.

• Needs to eat humans to survive, normal human food just makes him sick, though he can eat animals it doesn’t give him the same nutritional value.

• Disregards children as prey, actively defends children from any harm or outright ignores them. Will also leave their caretakers alone if they’re good people.

• Can sense and make deals with people that have greed or desperation in their hearts, though he’s really picky about who he makes deals with unlike Demon!Lake.

• His deals focus more on “long term employment”, doing a big task and expecting lots of small jobs or favours in return, such as spying on someone or helping him care for the children.

Demon!Haiden - Normal Form

• A lot fluffier than his calm form, very warm to the touch, perfect for keeping his children (Ashley and Lucas) and partner (Lake) warm during cold nights in Montreal.

• Bear skull mask has become more fully formed.

• Wings and tail are bigger and more elaborate, allowing for better flight capability and making it easier for him to keep his family close and safe.

• The form he spends the most time in.

• The more passive of the two but will attack if there’s a threat, focuses on defence and overwhelming power compared to Demon!Lake who is speed and stealth.

• Won’t attack anyone unless provoked but isn’t friendly to humans either unless he knows them or they’ve been vouched for by Lucas or Ashley.

• Tail feathers are coated in metal particles, allowing him to use them like a wall of blades. Will run the blades through the mouth of his bear skull mask to sharpen them, getting debris stuck in the inside. If any metal is in this debris he eats it and allows his body to assimilate it. Any other debris is formed into a pellet which is then coughed up (like an owl pellet or cat hairball), Haiden is often very disgusted by this process.

Demon!Haiden - Upset Form

• The form Haiden takes when sufficiently enraged or there is a threat to his children that must be exterminated with extreme prejudice.

• Animatronic body has been stretched to its limit in response to his transformation.

• An extra three eyes and two arms have formed for more visual information and dexterity.

• Bear skull gains a crown of horns which can break stone, skull mask can also act as an “outer” mouth and fold outwards to expose Haiden’s face and the “inner” mouth. Like a Xenomorph.

• Wings and tail are much bigger to accommodate for increased height, allowing him to fly for longer periods of time.

• Possesses a pouch in his expanded chest cavity which is used to hold and carry around Lucas and Ashley to free up his hands/arms. The tendrils that hang from his chassis help hold the two in place and the secondary pair of arms cover the hole to add another layer of protection.

• This form is as long as a school bus with the power to back it up, can easily destroy a skyscraper.

• Form boosts enhanced senses and physical abilities at the cost of rationality and consumed calories. Can consume more calories on the fly to extend the time limit but he burns through so much energy and is so focused on keeping Ashley, Lucas and Lake safe that he doesn’t bother.

• Demon!Haiden immediately reverts to his calm form after the upset form has used up all his energy. Will have to feed again in the next 24 hours or risk going into a Feeding Frenzy/Hunger Blackout, a state where he devours every human in sight until satisfied (won’t harm children, his children or the family/friends of said children).

A variant Au of “After the Fire” I came up with where BOTH Lake and Haiden become demons when the Funland burns.

Lucas somehow regains a physical/human form while trying to save Ashley from the flames, becoming separated from Haiden in the process. He keeps his powers and abilities but has to relearn how to live normally again. In this Au he takes on the Waters surname after he and Ashley are forced to do some manipulation of the police in order to ensure Lucas can stay. Being dead for thirty years has some drawbacks after all.

Then Haiden and Lake awaken from their hibernation/metamorphosis and have to adjust to their new existences before they can go reclaim the children. Haiden in particular is more distressed about it because he has separation anxiety due to lacking Lucas’ presence within his being and getting anxious over his adoptive son’s wellbeing. Lake has to talk him out of his panic and be the voice of reason to stop Haiden from ripping Montreal apart because he knows Lucas might get hurt in the process.
