Zombits Nightly 12.24.13


I’ve got a nice bucketload of updates to pour out tonight. Cheesy off-putting analagies aside, this build has some nifty new features that give the game a little more shine.

The intro sequence was completly redone to go along with a new transition between layouts. A new level has been added that has some new levely things, like a health pak and ladder.

Coming soon I’ve got a new zombie, new weapon, and of course ammo paks for all your shooting needs.

Changelog:

  • Add: New transition system between layouts. Nice fades to prevent jarring jumps in the action. *Still being implemented globally

  • Add: New level…get to the top.

  • Add: Ladders. Like elevators but faster.

  • Add: Health packs for healing.

  • Add: Storyline has been narrowed to make the game finishable in this lifetime.

  • Change: Intro sequence makes more since now it’s completely different.

  • Change: Switch to asm.js powered physics for browsers that support it. Hopefully better performance.

  • Bug fix: All red doors go somewhere, I don’t know where, but somewhere.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Let me introduce you to the new Mech line: Gendai Spec. Those are Mech that specializes in surprise attacks, covered operations, and stealth. They are equipped with melee weapons but one of Gendai's frames supports sniper rifles.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
