Hey all, I'm Harold aka "AtariPC". I've been involved in computer gaming since my first computer, an IMSAI 8080 with 8 inch floppy in 1977, you may vaguely remember it as the home computer used in the original movie "War Games". in 1980 I got my first Atari 8bit computer, a second hand 800 with 48k of ram, cassette tape drive, and a 5.25 floppy drive. I was an Atari fanboy from then on. through the 1980's I went from that to the 800XL, 130XE, 520STM, Mega STE (with CDAR 504 cdrom drive, 3.5 floppy and a whopping 120 Mb hard drive. Lastly I got the Falcon 030, before making the IBM pc clone jump with an Atari ABC PC5 486DX4 120, and Atari Branded MS Windows 3.11. In 1987 I became an authorized Atari Computer Repair center with the name of ST Consultants. In 1996 with the complete collapse of Atari as a hardware company I changed the name to AlleyCat Computers. We have solely used AMD processors since 1993. Our current top of the line Gaming, HTPC, and SOHO machine is the ACATS FX64/7 which uses either the Biostar B550GTA or the AsRock B550 Extreme 4 both for AM4 For AM5 we use the NEW Biostar X670E Valkyrie . CPU is either a Ryzen 9 7950X for Video/Science workloads or Ryzen 7 7800X3D for gaming. A minimum of 32GB of G.Skill TridentZ Neo ram. Video is supplied by {at minimum} Sapphire Nitro+ 6800XT. Or maxedout with the Sapphire Toxic 6950XT. Audio by SoundBlaster Fatal1ty/XFi. Wi-Fi by ASUS either PCE-AC88 or AX58BT. Hard memory is thru ADATA Gammix S70 2TB Nvme 4x4 ssd or Seagate Firecuda 520 2TB Nvme 4x4 ssd. extended storage handled by 3.5" Firecuda SSHD 2TB drives or 3.5" BarraCuda Pro 4TB HDDs. We use GameMax and Apevia 80+Gold or better power supplies and Phanteks or Thermaltake Cases. Cooling is handled by DarkFlash, or GamerStorm AIOs with full RGB fans from AIGO, Coolmoon, or Thermaltake.
I also got into amateur Astronomy in the late 80's, by the late 1990's computer control of home telescopes with PCs became a reality, hence we began to sell telescope control hardware and software in 2001. This led to our final name change in 2003.
Finally, my last hobby is American Muscle Cars, I have owner many thru the years including Several Torino/Montego's in the 1970s-80s to many Fox Mustangs and Capri 5.0Ls. my current ride is a Dodge Challenger R/T pictured above.
